Chris Spalla
Director of Golf Instruction
Chris, a native of Chicago, IL, was introduced to golf at age five by his father. He decided to develop his eye for detail and passion for golf into a career, so he enrolled in the David Leadbetter Golf Academy at ChampionsGate Golf Club in Orlando, FL. Chris played in junior events over many years and studied marketing at Lewis University in IL. During this time, he realized instruction was his calling. “I have so much respect for the intricacies that make up the golf swing. When combined with the pleasure and satisfaction students experience during their lessons, I knew this is what I wanted to do!” says Chris.
Chris became a Callaway Master Club Fitter and a certified golf club repairer, which requires precision and experience. For six years, he trained with David Leadbetter and his master instructors. He efficiently assembles a better golf swing for any player, from beginner golfers to top touring professionals. In May 2014, Chris accepted the lead instructor position at the Brad Brewer Golf Academy at the Shingle Creek Golf Club. He excels in developing players of all ages and igniting their passion for the game; he gets particular enjoyment from the success his students achieve.
Today, Chris continues to inspire and help players reach their best technique at the Shingle Creek Golf Academy. This state-of-the-art facility provides a unique experience in developing every player’s game. Currently, he is loving his new role as a first-time father to his daughter, born in April 2021. When he isn’t working on his golf game, Chris enjoys attending concerts and festivals with his wife, Jess. He also teaches his rescue dog how to fetch chip shots in the backyard.
